In the book of Joshua the Israelites are going to be entering the Promised Land and in Chapter 5 Joshua encounters a man with a sword. Joshua asks if he is for his side or the enemies as they must get through Jericho to enter. This is not a mole hill but like a mountain to break through so I think Joshua was trying to find out what they would be up against. The man said neither but was the Commander of The Lord’s Army. Joshua knew then it wasn’t about what his army could do but what GOD wanted and what HE could do. Joshua then knelt and waited to see what God’s plan was.nnHave you ever come up against something and you felt like the Israelites staring at those huge walls holding them back? Did it seem like you could never get past that point? I have felt that. What can I do to get past that? Have I been asking God whose side are you on?nnTime to stop asking this and ask what He wants me to do about it. Time to start circling Jericho.nnTomorrow is Day 1 of 7 days of circling Way Maker’s new Jericho in prayer. Let’s go…

Elijah, one of our residents, recently celebrated 1 year sober. Here is what he had to say!nn“Today is very special to me, I celebrate one year of sobriety, A year ago today, I almost lost my life due to my addiction. After spending 5 days in the hospital and finding out I was wanted in 3 different counties, I made the decision to change my life and surrender to God. I am alive today by the grace of God, he gave me another chance. I no longer have to live in darkness and am happier today than I've been my entire life. He is so good, ALL THE TIME, I have my family back, I have a great job, I got my driver's license back after 12 years and most importantly I'm sober today. Tomorrow is never promised, and I'm going to leave behind a legacy, not a tragedy. I pray for anyone out there who is struggling with addiction, life is so much better sober. There is power in prayer!nnSunday afternoon our friends at Beloved Warriors came and blessed the men with a meal and laid hands on Matt and Darin as we prayed over them after graduation!nnRecovery is possible through Jesus and the church coming together to impact lives.nnJesus is moving in power in Plainfield and Hendricks County and He won’t stop. Lives are being changed in a profound and powerful way.nnIf you’ve been looking for hope, turn to Jesus!

We are proud to announce that Darin and Matt have officially graduated from Way Makers 9 month program! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻nnThey completed all 3 phases of the program, have become a part of a church family, completed the 12 steps, and are gainfully employed.nnDarin came to us broken and defeated. His family has fallen apart and he was hopeless. Jesus in 9 month has made him a man of God and has restored his marriage and family!nnMatt came to Way Maker after many years of addiction and did not believe in God. Now Matt is in a supervisor role at work, he has his kids and family back in his life, gave his life to Jesus Christ, and has been sober over 10 months.nnJesus restores everything. We are so proud of you men! It’s been an honor to walk with you over the last 9 months. We love you!

As Mother’s Day approaches I find myself torn. I have so much gratitude for my son’s recovery from addiction and I am so blessed to see the joy in the moms of our Way Maker men as the see real change that comes from a right relationship with God. Rejoice in the Lord always🙌🏼♥️nnBut I am acutely aware of the sorrow felt by parents that have lost children to overdose or are still facing the pain of active addiction. Parents, God sees you. He collects all of your tears. He loves you and is near, even when you can’t feel Him.nPlease pray for comfort and healing.💔🙏🏼💙
