We all know how well the Jazz ended the season. Now can they continue their winning ways in the 2015-2016 season?

Western Conference Standing Predictions nn13. Los Angeles Lakers 28-54 (Last season 21-51) nGood news for Laker fans! They will improve this season! Bad news for Laker fans! They will not improve enough to become a playoff team. Yes, Kobe Bryant is going to be back, but he is not the same Kobe we saw before his injury. He will still be a 20-23 point a game player, but with age and injuries, he will be slowed down. And unless he's willing to take a smaller role and let some of the young guys take over, this could still be a long season. On paper, they may not have that bad of a starting 5, and it's actually a respectable one of D'Angelo Russell, Kobe Bryant, Nick Young, Brandon Bass and Roy HIbbert. But the bench is where the concern should be. Outside of Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams, no one really stands out. Now, I ultimately see Young moving to the bench and the Lakers going with a starting back court of Russell and Clarkson with Bryant playing small forward. This team could surprise us all and contend for a playoff spot, or this team could fall towards the bottom of the conference once again. Expect the latter. nn-Jacob

Western Conference Standing Predictions nn14. Portland Trail Blazers 26-56 (Last season 51-31) nThe Blazers looked like a contender. They started the season 17-4, went into January with a 26-7 record. Then January happened and they went a dismal 6-9 bringing their record to 32-16, which is still very respectable, but given their play before, was reason for concern. They would then go a mediocre 19-15 the rest of the way, losing their final 4 games of the season. Their downfall would continue in the playoffs as they would lose to the Memphis Grizzlies in 5 games. Then free agency started and only one player from the starting 5 is still there, and that's Damian Lillard. This is his team now. Aldridge, Matthews, Batum and Lopez are all gone. They've added a few good, but not great, players in Ed Davis, and traded for Mike Miller and Gerald Henderson. Portland is dealing with a new starting 5 and chemistry is going to be a huge issue. With a potential starting 5 of Lillard, Henderson, Al-Farouq Aminu, Ed Davis and Mason Plumlee, this team is going to have a hard time winning games. Portland is also in rebuilding mode and Rip City fans are in for a long season.

Western Conference Standing Predictions nn15. Denver Nuggets: 23-59 (Last season 30-52) nDenver looked like a team that could contend for a playoff spot this season with the right draft pick. Instead they picked a point guard when they already had Ty Lawson and Jameer Nelson on the roster, leading to speculation of the team parting ways with Lawson. Well that is exactly what happened as the Nuggets traded Lawson to the Rockets in exchange for practically nothing. Now all signs point to the Nuggets handing over the team to rookie point guard Emmanuel Mudiay. Now Mudiay is a solid point guard and should produce nicely for this team, but this team looks more like a team that will contend for a number 1 pick rather than a playoff spot. They still have Danilo Gallinari and Kenneth Faried, but both have been underwhelming as of late. The Nuggets are now in rebuilding mode, and don't be surprised if Gallinari or Faried (or even both) are gone sometime during the season. nn-Jacob

Anthony Davis joined Shaquille O'Neal as the only players since 2000 to average at least 24 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and shoot at least 53%. nnHe's only 22 and he's only getting better. An MVP is definitely in this guy's future. nn-Jacob
