Instead of grabbing that coffee to get you through the day I challenge you to get more energy from eating more fruit!! Coffee is really not great for us because the caffeine in it reacts in the brain the same as cocaine. It stimulates and give a bit of dopamine but it also dehydrates the body, stresses the kidneys, feeds opportunistic yeast in the GI tract which can lead to overproduction of uric acid and joint pain, and it burns out the adrenal glands. After having a cup you’ll feel great, but shortly after you’ll likely crash and feel worse off than you did before. By consuming more fruit you’ll have more energy than before because you’ll be adequately hydrated, will have lots of carbon aka sugar to keep you alert and energized, and will be getting all of the key minerals and nutrients your body needs to kick into high gear. And with fruit, instead of having your brain and kidneys damaged, the fruit will actually help to heal and reverse past damages due to its astringent properties. I know it can be hard to break the cycle of eating a heavy meal, getting tired, and then using coffee to pick you up because I was once there too. However, I can promise you that changing your diet to plant based with lots of fruit will give you more energy than ever. I own 2 businesses, have a teenager and 3 kids under 4, and coach high school and club soccer yet I don’t miss a beat due to how nourished I am. On this journey to loving ourselves deeper we must realize that coffee is nothing more than a quick fix. True energy and health is found in the sweet fruits provided to us by Mother Nature.

As a man there is arguably no better breakfast for you in the world than a big bowl of berries. And here’s why. On top of being loaded with hydration, carbon for energy, being easy to digest after your fast (sleep) and being loaded with fiber, berries are loaded with zinc. Zinc is a critical mineral especially for men because it supports male reproductive health. Studies show that low zinc levels are associated with low testosterone levels, poor sperm quality, prostate issues, and infertility. When I personally suffered from prostate issues in my 20s caused by Candida I eventually got sick and tired of being sick and tired. Meat isn’t designed for the human digestive system and can actually putrefy in our intestines, resulting in toxic substances like ammonia that kill our mood, lower our energy, and cause diseases!!nnThis is because humans don’t have the anatomy that meat eaters do. We have extremely long and sacculated digestive systems meant to breakdown the cellulose in plants, whereas carnivores have short and smooth digestive systems that process meat within 4-6 hours because meat putrefies quickly if it’s not refrigerated. The proteins in meat can get stuck along the colon walls of our intestines quite easily, and due to our digestive process taking 18-36 hours, those trapped proteins can lead to putrefaction which then released toxic by products that can cause low energy and disease. nnI’m not naive to the fact that humans have adapted the ability to digest meat as a means of survival, which has helped our species out immensely. However, we cannot deny the fact that our human anatomy, from our long intestines to our teeth to our sweet tasting tastebuds to our ability to see bright and vivid color all point to humans being natural fruit eaters, not omnivores as we’ve been taught. nnAnd once we understand that most of the cows and chickens today are farmed rather than being the natural grass grazers that they are, and that these animals are now being fed corn, soy, and other grains that cause them to be sick with bacterial infections which then forces farmers to add antibiotics into their feed that then make its way onto your plate and kills the good bacteria in your gut which are responsible for everything from your immune system to your mood stabilization to digestion and more, it becomes more and more clear that the habit of consuming meat at every meal is leading more and more unassuming, innocent people to the grave. nnSimply put, humans have certainly adapted the ability to eat meat, but the fact that the meat of today is of such low quality, combined with the fact that it is severely over consumed, makes it extremely dangerous for humans and a contributor to the cancer, mental health, obesity, and diabetes epidemics we are experiencing today. nnOur fridge just went out but I’m relatively unbothered due to the fact that my family follows The Meal Plan meaning there’s no meat putrefying in our fridge or in our guts. I’d say milk is the #1 worse food for humans because it does nothing for the body but cause cancer and weaken the bones! The USDA promotes it as a high calcium food that strengthens bones but that is simply not true, and quite frankly, they are in it for the money. nnThe elevated amount of the protein casein in milk has been shown to proliferate the spread of cancer cells. And studies show that countries that drink the most milk have the highest rates of osteoporosis and hip fractures because drinking milk actually makes your bones weaker because the acidity of it causes the body to strip electrolytes like calcium from the bones to help bring the blood to a more alkaline state.nn The reason 75% to 95% of people of African or Asian descent are lactose intolerant isn’t because there’s something wrong with their anatomy. It’s simply because the human body does not have the necessary enzyme lactase to digest the liquid that is meant to turn tiny baby calves into large cows. Europeans are more likely to have the enzymes as early Europeans did lots of dairy farming, but that doesn’t make it any healthier for us. nnAnd not only do we lack the lactase to digest any type of milk, but the milk of cows is even worse for us because it is completely incompatible with the milk of humans as cows milk is very high in protein and lower in sugar while human milk is the highest in sugar of any species while being the lowest in protein. nnAnd once we factor in that the cows of today are fed soy and corn filled with steroids and antibiotics when they should be eating grass, and that farmed cows are extremely depressed, you begin to realize that you’re consuming the milk of a malnourished and diseased and depressed cow that is meant for a baby calf, which will do your body no good. nnThe reason why dairy became such a staple in the American diet is because in the early 1900s after World War 1 ended (when soldiers were sent powdered milk due to it being a non perishable food), there was a surplus of dairy infrastructure that would’ve gone to waste so the dairy industry marketed milk as an essential item. It worked and Americans began drinking more milk. nnAnd then the USDA made milk part of the food pyramid, which is asinine due to how toxic milk is and because milk is the only section of the pyramid made up of a single ingredient. nnAnd the blasphemy continued all the way through the “Got Milk” campaign that started in the 90s, which skyrocketed milk as a staple in the American diet and made it cool as it reinforced the idea that you needed milk to be big and strong. nnIf you’re looking for milk alternatives grocery stores are loaded with them today. But quite honestly, you are much better off making it yourself. Making walnut milk, coconut milk, and more, is actually quite simple. Just soak the nuts or whatever you’re using overnight, then take 1 part of your base with 4 parts water and blend for 1 minute then strain. You can even blend up with a sweetener like agave and a touch of sea salt for taste. Not only will these alternatives taste amazing and not poison you, but they’ll also be loaded with key minerals like calcium, zinc, copper, iron, and more.
